Private family tree websites

Your family tree —
somewhere your family will actually look.

Give your GEDCOM a home. We turn your tree into a private, well-designed website filled with photos, documents, timelines, and stories — visible only to the people you invite.

How it works

From a file in a folder to a living family archive.

A GEDCOM file is hard to share. A printed binder gets lost. A private family website is something your relatives will open — on their phone, when grandma is talking about a name they've never heard before.

Start from your GEDCOM

Upload a GEDCOM exported from Ancestry, MyHeritage, FamilySearch, RootsMagic, Gramps, Family Tree Maker — or let us build the tree first.

Living people hidden by default

Anyone with no death date is private. Their information is never displayed without your explicit decision to share.

Password or invite-only access

Choose a shared password for the whole family, or send individual invitations. Revoke access any time.

Photos, documents & stories

Attach scans of photos, certificates, letters, and oral history transcripts directly to the people they belong to.

Timelines & places

See a life arranged by date and place — births, marriages, migrations, military service, and the events that shaped them.

Not indexed by search engines

Your site is not crawled by Google by default. Living relatives stay off the public internet.

What you receive

A keepsake — not a software project.

We handle hosting, design, GEDCOM import, privacy configuration, and media attachments. You receive a calm, readable website with your family's name on it.

  • Custom subdomain (or your own domain)
  • Clean, readable design — works on phones
  • Family-friendly navigation: people, families, places, timelines
  • Media gallery with photos, documents, and audio clips
  • Optional contributor accounts for trusted relatives

What the site includes

The tree, and the evidence around it.

We put your family tree on a site you can browse or search, and we host it. The original offer also included a mobile app so the same tree could be opened on a phone. The basic package includes monthly updates. With admin access you can update it yourself. If you do not have a tree yet, we can build one. Genealogists can also have us do this for their clients.

Privacy & respect

Your family's story belongs to your family.

We treat genealogy as a relationship of trust. Privacy isn't a checkbox at the bottom of the page — it's how we work.

Have a sensitive situation — an adoption, an unexpected DNA match, a relative who isn't ready to be named?
Let's talk about it in confidence.

  • Living people, protected by default

On any family tree website we build, living individuals are hidden by default. Names, dates, and personal details are never exposed without your explicit permission.

  • Private — not publicly indexed

Family tree websites are private by default. Search engines can't crawl them unless you specifically ask us to make a portion public.

  • Your stories, handled with care

Photographs, documents, and oral histories are treated as family heirlooms. We don't repurpose your material, train models on it, or share it with third parties.

  • Public and private, clearly explained

Sensitive topics — adoptions, DNA results, unknown parentage — are handled confidentially. You always control what's shared, with whom, and when.

Common questions

What families ask before we start.

Who owns the data?

You do. Always. We can export a clean GEDCOM and all media to you at any time.

Can different family members see different things?

Yes. We can set up multiple access levels — e.g. a small inner-circle that can see living relatives, and a broader group that sees only deceased ancestors.

What if my GEDCOM is messy?

That's normal — most are. GEDCOM cleanup is part of building the site, and we'll flag duplicates, conflicting dates, and unsourced claims before publishing.

Can we keep adding to it over time?

Absolutely. The site is meant to grow. We can also train you to maintain it yourself or handle updates on a retainer.

Will my information be used to train AI?

No. Your family's data is not used to train models, build a public database, or shared with third parties.

Ready to give your tree a home?

Send us your GEDCOM (or just a description of what you have). We'll come back with a plan and a quote.
